MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA
A line that hasn't left me in 3 weeks.
by @talesinpixels
Nirvair’s girlfriend asks him - “Aaj kal aisa pyaar kahan milta hai?”
(Where does one even find a love like that, anymore?)
Nirvair says - “Ye milta nahi hai… ye hota hai hamare andar.”
(You don’t find it. It already lives inside us.)
“Beintihaan mohabbat abhi bhi hum sabke andar hai, par ye ek zeher ki tarah hoti hai.”
(A boundless love still lives in all of us - but it behaves like poison.)
“Hum puri zindagi un cheezo ki talaash mein reh jaate hain, ki kahan hum ye zeher apne andar se nikal paayein - chahe vo kisi jaanwar ke upar ho, chahe ped paudhon ke upar, chahe vo insaanon mein ho.”
(We spend our whole lives searching for somewhere to release it - an animal, a plant, a person. Anything.)
“Par zara sa bhi ye zeher hamare andar reh jaaye, toh hume marne tak nahi deta.”
(But if even a drop stays trapped inside - it won’t let us rest, even in death.)
I am not from Partition. We lost no one in Sargodha. But this line found something in me that I didn’t know I was still carrying.
